Teeth are sometimes infected, decay, or crowding other teeth in the mouth. When this happens, we use extraction as a last resort.
During the extraction, you may feel slight pressure, but no pain. Different anesthetics are offered depending on the severity of the procedure.
Why need an extraction?:
- To make room before braces.
- If a tooth is impacted.
- Excessive tooth decay
- Risk of infection, an abscessed tooth, or damage to the pulp
- People who are receiving chemotherapy, may need teeth removed to prevent infections.
Extraction can be carried out using local anesthetic.
